Tim Davie, the outgoing Director-General of the BBC, is embarking on a new chapter in his career with appointments at FGS Global and Mediawan. Davie, who has been at the helm of the BBC since September 2020, will also assume the role of Co-Chair of the Creative Industries Council (CIC).
This marks Davie's second tenure as Industry Chair of the CIC, having previously held the position in 2018. He will join Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and Business Secretary Peter Kyle as co-chairs, taking over from Sir Peter Bazalgette and Baroness Shriti Vadera. The council's focus will remain on sector plan priorities such as innovation, access to finance, workforce development, trade, and investment.
Davie's departure from the BBC follows a period of significant leadership roles within the corporation, including Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences, Director of Audio and Music, and Chief Executive of BBC Studios. He also served as a Trustee for both the Tate and the Royal Television Society.
