David Denison, deputy chief investment officer at Florin Court Capital, is scheduled to retire by the end of the year. Following his departure, Claudio Verzilli, currently head of research, will assume a more significant role at the hedge fund.
Florin Court Capital employs a systematic macro strategy that focuses on 'alternative markets' such as French electricity, Chinese commodities, and Colombian interest rates. According to founder and CIO Douglas Greenig, this approach offers diversification and lower correlation to traditional assets like stocks, bonds, and commodities, as well as to other commodity trading adviser (CTA) strategies. The firm trades over 300 markets, including emerging market interest rate swaps, exotic commodities, cryptocurrencies, and developing market cash equities.
Greenig, who studied macroeconomics at Princeton and earned a doctorate in pure mathematics from Berkeley, founded Florin Court Capital. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs, assisting Fischer Black, and held roles at RBS Greenwich Capital and Man AHL. Several members of the Florin Court management team, including Denison, Verzilli, Antony Vinitsky (chief operations and risk officer), and Matt Stevenson (head of product management), also have backgrounds at Man AHL.
