Pinterest has appointed James Dibbo, a former Amazon executive, as its new chief financial officer, effective October 26. Dibbo, 56, will succeed Julia Brau Donnelly, who is departing the company on October 30 after joining in 2023.
Dibbo brings extensive experience from his decade at Amazon, where he most recently served as Vice President and CFO for Global Entertainment, Advertising and Corporate Development. In this role, he oversaw finance for businesses including Amazon Ads, Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Music, Audible, and Twitch. He also previously held CFO positions for Amazon's Worldwide Consumer and North America Consumer divisions.
Pinterest CEO Bill Ready stated that Dibbo's experience in scaling global businesses and understanding the intersection of consumer experience, shopping, advertising, and technology will benefit the company. Dibbo expressed admiration for Pinterest's position at the intersection of visual search, shopping, and advertising, seeing an opportunity to help users turn inspiration into action and deliver value to advertisers.
Before Amazon, Dibbo held senior finance roles at P.F. Chang's, Tesco, and BT Group, and began his career at PwC in London. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Cardiff University and is a Chartered Accountant. Pinterest shares were down approximately 1% in extended trading on October 5.
