Consolidated Analytics is advancing automation in the mortgage industry through its document intelligence technology, aiming to streamline processes from application through servicing. Lindsley Harris of Consolidated Analytics explained that the key challenge for lenders is automating processes without forcing existing operational structures into a single workflow. The company's approach focuses on creating adaptable solutions that integrate with a lender's current systems, accommodating different loan products and staffing models.
The document intelligence system checks borrower documents as they are uploaded, immediately flagging issues such as outdated tax transcripts. This proactive validation aims to prevent problems from escalating and reduces the time spent on manual data entry and verification. Harris noted that the system can generate a 1003 form in approximately 15 minutes, a significant reduction from the two to three days typically required for manual completion. This upfront validation also aids in fraud prevention by bringing underwriting knowledge earlier in the loan lifecycle, allowing loan officers and brokers to identify discrepancies, missing data, and potential red flags.
The technology is designed to create a clean, Mismo-ready file that can seamlessly integrate into underwriting, closing, quality control, and servicing systems. Consolidated Analytics emphasizes that their AI models are trained on real loan packages, distinguishing them from systems that use synthetic data. The company's focus is on enabling organizations to scale through automation while retaining human judgment for critical decision-making in the highly regulated mortgage industry. Adoption of the technology does not require lenders to replace their existing loan origination (LOS) or point-of-sale (POS) systems, as it integrates via APIs. Feedback from lenders highlights trust and a deep understanding of mortgage industry requirements, including compliance and data responsibilities, as crucial factors for successful implementation.
