Russia has initiated sabotage operations targeting Danish companies that supply Ukraine, a shift reflecting an escalation in Moscow's hybrid warfare campaign, according to a Danish intelligence official. Josefine Christensen, lead analyst at the Danish national security and intelligence service (PET), stated that Russia concluded broader disruption efforts failed to curb Western military support for Ukraine and is now focusing on targets with a direct impact on the front line, such as weapons production.
Christensen noted that while planning was observed in the spring, actual operations increased in early summer. Russia is reportedly using untrained proxies, including individuals recruited via social media platforms, for tasks ranging from reconnaissance to sabotage. These proxies are often motivated by quick financial gain.
