CoStar Group has finalized its $800 million cash acquisition of Zonda, a company specializing in new-home construction data and online marketplaces. The deal, announced in May and completed on August 21, significantly expands CoStar's presence in the residential sector by integrating Zonda's data platform and its consumer marketplaces, NewHomeSource.com and Livabl.
Zonda, which serves over 3,000 customers including major homebuilders and developers, reported approximately $170 million in revenue for 2025 with a 23% adjusted EBITDA margin. This acquisition allows CoStar to target the estimated $400 billion annual U.S. new-home sales market, an area previously underserved by digital platforms.
CoStar plans to integrate Zonda's operations into its existing residential segment, which saw a 33% year-over-year revenue increase in the second quarter of 2026, reaching $444 million. The company also highlighted potential technological synergies, particularly with its 2024 acquisition of Matterport's spatial technology, to enhance the marketing and visualization of new construction.
Andy Florance, CEO of CoStar Group, stated that Zonda has built an essential business for the homebuilding industry. BofA Securities advised CoStar on the transaction, with Latham & Watkins LLP providing legal counsel.
