Concerns were raised by some cabinet ministers about public impatience for tangible benefits, with one noting, "People need to start feeling actual benefits next year. We have got less time than we might think." There is also apprehension that Labour's message may not resonate with a broad enough base, despite a "Burnham bounce" in polls, which remain volatile. The party faces challenges in regaining support in Wales and Scotland, which are crucial for a majority government. Strategists anticipate that Burnham's commitment to tackling difficult issues may lead to a more challenging political path.
