Todd Bookspan and Matt Baker, along with their team, have joined NEXA Lending and launched a new umbrella brand called Keepsake Loans. The Bookspan Baker Team, which previously operated under Guild Mortgage, has originated over $1 billion in mortgage volume and is projected to produce approximately $100 million in 2026. This move allows the team to maintain its identity and business operations while gaining access to NEXA's technology, products, and investor relationships.
Bookspan, with 25 years of industry experience, stated that the decision followed a reevaluation of the evolving broker channel. He noted that understanding NEXA's model revealed opportunities in products, technology, and income that were previously unknown to him. Baker, who has over 30 years of experience, indicated the move aims to create growth opportunities beyond loan production.
NEXA Lending has been expanding its offerings, including mortgage servicing through evoLend and the recent launch of NEXA Unlimited, which provides loan officers with 100% of revenue from NEXA loans. Mike Kortas, an executive partner at NEXA, emphasized that the company provides infrastructure for established entrepreneurs like Bookspan and Baker, rather than dictating their business operations. Geri Farr, CEO of NEXA Lending, added that the company seeks to attract proven mortgage entrepreneurs looking to build their next chapter without sacrificing their established identity.
