In Tibet, the death toll from the catastrophic floods has risen to 31 from 21. Chinese state media added that 531 people remain missing. Information on the Chinese side has largely come from state media. Foreign journalists need permission to report from Tibet and access has so far been restricted. From there, journalists have been brought towards the China-Nepal border on a journey that takes several hours. Deborah Wong reports.
