The death toll from a severe explosion at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd's Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has risen to 10. Worker Suri Babu died on June 13 from severe burn injuries sustained in the June 8 incident, according to a Visakhapatnam health official.
Initially, the explosion on June 8 killed eight workers and injured six. Two of the injured workers have since died, bringing the total fatalities to 10. Of the remaining injured, two have been discharged from the hospital, and two are currently undergoing treatment in a stable condition.
Suri Babu sustained between 95 and 100 percent burn injuries in the accident.
