A 17-year-old North Carolina girl was arrested and indicted on three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy for allegedly recording a livestream of a shooting at a San Diego mosque and disseminating the attackers’ white-supremacist writings. Forsyth county district attorney Jim O’Neill stated that the girl's actions, under North Carolina law, carry the same penalties as if she had committed the attack herself. The shooting, which occurred on May 18, involved Cain Clark, 17, and Caleb Vazquez, 18, who killed a security guard, Amin Abdullah, and two other men before taking their own lives. The attackers cited the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings as inspiration.
