Indian voice AI startup Ringg has secured $10 million in an extended Series A funding round from Peak XV Partners, bringing the total raised for the round to $15.5 million. The company, which processes 20 million call attempts monthly, is capitalizing on the strong consumer preference for phone calls in India to automate customer support and outreach.
Ringg, which began as a text-to-speech startup, pivoted to building voice AI agents for enterprises after finding its own speech model training too costly. Its client roster includes major Indian companies such as Cred, Flipkart, Practo, Groww, and PolicyBazaar. While initially focused on high-volume, low-complexity tasks like outbound calling and lead qualification, Ringg is now targeting more sophisticated workflows, including appointment booking for healthcare, abandoned-cart recovery for e-commerce, and onboarding/KYC checks for fintech.
Siddharth Tripathi, co-founder of Ringg, stated that the company aims to be a platform for agents that deliver outcomes, rather than just voice agents. Although voice calls still constitute over 70% of its business, Ringg is expanding into chat and WhatsApp channels and automating browser-based support requests for clients like Shell. The startup also plans to partner with Global Capability Centers in India to offer automation alongside human support to multinational corporations.
Peak XV Partners principal Rishen Kapoor highlighted Ringg's technical depth, stemming from its origins as a research lab building its own models, which enables it to handle complex, end-to-end enterprise workflows with quality and consistency. The voice AI market in India is competitive, with numerous players in model making, orchestration, and application layers. Ringg currently employs 40 people and is actively hiring engineers and researchers to enhance its capabilities and reduce operational costs.
