A recent poll indicates that California voters are becoming fatigued with Governor Gavin Newsom's leadership. However, a separate survey targeting key political and policy influencers in the state reveals a more favorable view of his performance.
The influencer group, defined by job titles and affiliations including government employees, lobbyists, and policy advisers, showed a slight majority believing Newsom did well overall. They also expressed more positive opinions on his handling of specific policy areas such as climate, state spending, taxes, and artificial intelligence.
These findings stem from parallel surveys conducted by TrueDot, an AI-accelerated research platform, in partnership with the Citrin Center at UC Berkeley and POLITICO. The voter survey, comprising 1,149 registered voters and 909 likely voters, was conducted online from October 9-14. The influencer study took place from October 14-16.
