PLACE has acquired Ardley, a company specializing in recapture and retention software for independent mortgage companies and banks, according to an announcement on Friday. This acquisition is a strategic move by PLACE to enhance its integrated mortgage and real estate platform, aiming to create a comprehensive ecosystem covering the entire loan lifecycle.
Ardley's technology analyzes existing loan portfolios to identify opportunities for lenders to secure new originations and retain borrowers by preventing them from refinancing or seeking loans from competitors. PLACE President Chris Stuart emphasized that the acquisition is a "retention and growth play," designed to leverage servicing portfolios to foster ongoing customer relationships and future transactions.
This move follows PLACE's recent acquisitions, including Maxwell, Remine, and Envoy Mortgage, as part of its strategy to build a vertically integrated platform. PLACE noted that the combined technologies of Maxwell and Ardley touched approximately one in every 10 U.S. mortgage originations in 2025. The integration will focus on purchase retention, making Ardley's platform accessible to PLACE's network of real estate agents.
Ardley will continue to operate as a subsidiary of PLACE, maintaining its executive team and approximately 15 employees. Founder and CEO Nathan Den Herder expressed that the combination with PLACE would allow him to better serve customers and participate in a larger vision for the homebuying experience.
