Olam Agri held a groundbreaking ceremony on November 5, 2026, for a $70 million integrated animal feed manufacturing facility in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria. The plant is expected to produce 450,000 metric tons of poultry feed and nearly 100,000 tons of aquafeed annually, serving farmers in the South-South and South-East regions, and is expected to be completed in 2027.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori said the investment was a direct outcome of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit held in August 2026. He said the state government provided approximately 99.99 acres of land without charging the company and paid compensation to facilitate the land acquisition. Oborevwori said animal feed accounts for between 60 and 80 percent of livestock and poultry production costs and that the new facility would reduce transportation costs and improve access to feed.
Sharad Gupta, president and global head of integrated feed and protein at Olam Agri, said the company's decision to locate the facility in Delta was informed by the agricultural potential of the South-South and South-East regions.
