Banking applications from Mox Bank, Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK), ZA Bank, and Citibank Hong Kong have been recognized among the top 10 in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a recent study by Sia Partners. The international consulting firm's global benchmark assessed 137 banking applications across 23 countries, evaluating them on over 100 criteria across three pillars: Functionalities (FX), User Experience (UX), and App Store ratings.
The study highlighted that digital leaders in the banking sector are distinguished by their fully digital end-to-end offerings, innovative services, and the integration of new technologies such as AI, ESG-related features, personal financial management tools, chatbots, and open banking initiatives. The research also noted the increasing competitiveness of non-European banks in the digital banking space, with several making it into the top rankings.
ZA Bank was ranked 6th globally in the benchmark, while Mox Bank secured the 10th position. DBS Digibank Singapore also featured in the top 10, at 7th place.
