Founded by Sara Tashakorinia, who experienced the extensive paperwork involved after her husband's passing eight years ago, the platform utilizes AI to automate tasks such as finding tax forms, filing insurance claims, and closing bank accounts.
Tashakorinia, with a background in cybersecurity, co-founded LumenUs with Sajad Mirzaei, a former engineer at Google and Box, and Larry Keeley, an innovation scientist. The platform personalizes the user experience by asking specific questions about the situation and the individual's state of mind. It then organizes tasks by urgency, helping users identify immediate priorities and potential financial benefits they may be entitled to, such as unclaimed life insurance. The team is also consulting with clinicians and social workers during product testing.
LumenUs is set to launch in early access in October.
