Israeli airstrikes on the southern Lebanese village of Kfar Rumman killed at least 11 people, including two children and two medics, according to Lebanese state media. The strikes, which occurred shortly after midnight, reportedly destroyed a three-storey residential building and a car.
The Israeli military stated it was investigating the reports. The attacks follow similar Israeli strikes on Sunday that killed seven people in southern Lebanon, which the Israeli military stated were retaliation for drone attacks by Hezbollah.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the renewed attacks constituted a "dangerous escalation" and jeopardized a US-brokered ceasefire agreed upon in June. Hezbollah condemned the attacks and stated they would be met with a response. Separately, Houthi rebels claimed to have downed a Saudi armed reconnaissance aircraft and two other Saudi drones in northern Yemen, though the claim could not be independently verified.
