Compass has launched the Compass Global Division, an internal agent-to-agent network designed to connect U.S.-based clients with vetted advisors for international real estate transactions. The new unit formalizes a structure for Compass agents to collaborate with peers who have established practices in foreign markets, utilizing the brokerage's existing technology and referral tools.
The initiative addresses the increasing trend of affluent buyers pursuing cross-border purchases, second homes abroad, and residency-by-investment options, often facing fragmented services and unfamiliar transaction standards. Core members of the division's elite Tier 1 are U.S.-based Compass agents who also hold independent standing to transact in foreign markets, providing clients with a predictable path to colleagues experienced in specific countries.
John Eric, global head of the Compass Global Division, stated that the division aims to remove barriers clients encounter when their ambitions cross borders. The division's founding executive leadership team also includes Kelly Robinson (global head of business development, UAE), Harmony Hoefner (global head of marketing, Costa Rica and Latin America), and Megan Probst (global head of systems and tracking, Dominican Republic).
Division members are expected to combine their U.S. real estate expertise with knowledge of local overseas practices to assist clients with legal and tax requirements, language barriers, and cultural differences, while maintaining domestic communication and service standards. Compass stated that each referral and transaction within the division will be tracked using the same systems and transparency employed for U.S. deals, intended to build client trust in unfamiliar jurisdictions.
The division also plans to serve as a hub for related professional services outside the U.S., connecting clients with local brokerages, legal counsel, tax advisors, and other specialists. Compass President Neda Navab noted that organizing agents with international practices into formal tiers clarifies career paths for agents and service levels for clients, expanding Compass's global reach and empowering its agents.
