CME Group has appointed Jack Tobin as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective March 2027. Tobin, who has been with the derivatives exchange since 2002 and served as chief accounting officer since 2015, will succeed Lynne Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is slated to become CME's first female CEO, taking over from Terry Duffy, who plans to step down. Tobin's transition to CFO will be preceded by a period as deputy CFO starting in November. The leadership changes occur as traditional derivatives exchanges face increasing competition from newer market formats. Matthew Render will succeed Tobin as deputy chief accounting officer. CME Group's shares have seen a gain of over 1% this year.
