Goldman Sachs has appointed Farshid Asl and Matt Weir as the new co-heads of its Investment Strategy Group, succeeding Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters. Mossavar-Rahmani, who also served as chief investment officer of Wealth Management, is set to retire later this year after a three-decade tenure at the bank.
Mossavar-Rahmani joined Goldman Sachs as a partner in 1993. Prior to that, she was employed at Fidelity Management, where she held the position of chief investment officer for fixed-income accounts. Her career at Goldman Sachs has spanned strategic asset allocation and tactical investment strategy within the Private Wealth Management Group.
Asl and Weir are both long-serving employees of Goldman Sachs, each having spent two decades with the firm. Weir most recently held the position of managing director within the Investment Strategy Group, part of the Asset & Wealth Management division. Mossavar-Rahmani will collaborate with the Investment Strategy Group and wealth management teams in the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.
