ADM is expanding its regenerative agriculture program in the UK through a new collaboration with Ooni Pizza Ovens. The initiative focuses on producing flour using wheat grown with regenerative agriculture practices, aiming to enhance traceability and transparency throughout the supply chain.
The UK program, launched in 2023, supports farmers in adopting an outcome-based farming approach that benefits soil health, biodiversity, climate, and water resources, while also aiding farming business development. Producers enrolled in ADM's program receive guidance and financial incentives for each hectare farmed using regenerative methods, such as planting cover crops to increase soil carbon storage.
This partnership integrates ADM's regenerative agriculture efforts with Ooni's mission to provide high-quality pizza-making experiences. Ooni will offer a new line of 'Type '00'' pizza flour produced in British mills using renewable electricity and wheat from farms employing regenerative practices. The flour will be available via Ooni's UK website and select retailers.
Ashley Fuller, commercial director at ADM Milling, highlighted ADM's unique position across the wheat-to-flour value chain in the UK, enabling them to minimize environmental impact from farm to customer. He noted ADM's global regenerative agriculture efforts expanded to over 2.8 million acres in 2023.
Claire Grant, senior project manager groceries at Ooni Pizza Ovens, stated that the collaboration aligns with Ooni's mission to provide home pizza makers with necessary ingredients while respecting the planet. She emphasized Ooni's commitment to becoming a regenerative business and meeting customer needs with high-quality ingredients.
