Negeri Sembilan state election: National issues enter campaign spotlight

CNA2 hours ago8:30

Malaysia's Negeri Sembilan will head to the polls on Saturday to determine which party will form the next state government. Campaigning has mainly focused on local issues, but Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has made reference to larger issues. He announced that Myanmar has agreed to take back 5,000 Rohingya refugees in a rare repatriation agreement. While on the campaign trail, Mr Anwar also made reference to the declassification of the report by a Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji — a state-run fund for Islamic pilgrimage. Melissa Goh reports from Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.
