This is one of the recommendations shared by a government-appointed panel that is studying the mental health impact of social media use. While countries like Australia and Malaysia have raised the minimum age to access social media, the group believes Singapore should not do the same. Instead, one panel member said it's more important to address features that may expose users to safety risks. The experts found that one in six young people in Singapore have problematic social media use, which could lead to anxiety and depression.
