Singapore's MICE industry broadens sustainability efforts with updated roadmap

Singapore is expanding its sustainability ambitions as it eyes a bigger share of the global business events market. The MICE Sustainability Roadmap 2.0 broadens the industry's sustainability scope beyond the environment to include communities and businesses. This will help the sector become more competitive in attracting international events. Singapore aims to triple MICE tourism receipts to S$4.5 billion by 2040. With MICE visitors typically spending twice as much as leisure travellers, the sector is expected to play an increasingly important role in driving high-value tourism growth. Beatrice Yap reports.
