The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has achieved a new milestone by processing a record 3,254 transactions in a single block, as revealed by XRPL Foundation contributor Vet on September 14. This achievement follows the recent mainnet activation of the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, which introduced several fixes to the ledger. Vet noted that while most of the transactions were simple 1-drop XRP payments, which place a light load on the network, the ledger handled the increased activity without any slowdowns or validator issues. He also explained that XRPL's transaction capacity is an adaptive soft target that can increase if blocks close quickly, with the network preferring close times under five seconds. Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz previously clarified that XRP Ledger comprises a significant portion of network activity and that transaction costs are low, enabling diverse uses. The fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment is a precursor to the larger XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade, which includes features like Confidential Transfers and DynamicMPT. However, the Sponsor (XLS-68) amendment, part of the upgrade, is still facing a lower vote count.
