US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that he would immediately fire his advisers Chris LaCivita and James Blair if any conflicts of interest arise. The comments came after a report by The New York Times indicated that the two political operatives had visited the Bosnian territory of Republika Srpska ahead of elections there.
Trump clarified in a social media post that LaCivita and Blair are outside consultants and do not work for him directly, adding that they are "allowed to do work for others, just like all consultants in Washington, D.C." He acknowledged he was unaware of their other clients but would inquire and terminate their services if a conflict was discovered.
