U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla has formally entered one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing EV markets with the establishment of a subsidiary in Vietnam. The new entity, Tesla Motors Vietnam Limited Liability Company, was registered in Ho Chi Minh City on September 11 with charter capital of 77.667 billion Vietnamese dong ($3 million).
The company is authorized to conduct wholesale and retail sales of automobiles, vehicle parts, machinery, and equipment, along with related import, export, and distribution activities. David Jon Feinstein, a U.S. national, is listed as the chairman, with Isabel Ching Fan serving as general director and Nguyen Manh Hung as assistant to the general director.
