South Korean National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik on Thursday asked China to play a "constructive role" in promoting peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, emphasizing that the two countries should work together toward that goal. Cho made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing at the National Assembly. He expressed hope that the two countries will continue to develop their friendly relations, noting the recent 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. Cho informed Dai that the South Korean government is actively working to create conditions for dialogue with North Korea while pursuing peaceful coexistence and shared prosperity.
