The data, submitted by the National Court Administration to Rep. Kim Dong-ha of the ruling Democratic Party, showed a total of 239,145 hacking attempts during the first eight months of the year. This contrasts with 101,205 attempts during the same period last year and a total of 141,528 cases for the entirety of last year.
Monthly figures indicate that March saw the highest volume of hacking attempts, with 48,263 cases. May followed with 39,915 attempts, and June recorded 34,083 cases. Previous annual totals for hacking attempts were 142,514 in 2021, 126,212 in 2022, 114,070 in 2023, and 98,171 in 2024.
