Sabato’s Crystal Ball, a political forecasting model from the University of Virginia, has updated its rating for the Alaska Senate race, shifting it from a ‘toss-up’ to ‘leans Democrat.’ This change indicates a more favorable outlook for Democratic candidate Mary Peltola against incumbent Republican Senator Dan Sullivan.
The updated analysis, released on Tuesday, also saw shifts in other Senate races. According to the Washington Examiner, the forecast moved the ratings for Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) and Senator Jon Husted’s (R-OH) from ‘leans Republican’ to ‘toss-up’ on Thursday. North Carolina’s open Senate seat, to fill the vacancy of retiring Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), was moved from ‘toss-up’ to ‘leans Democratic.’
