Russian attacks killed two people and injured 38 across Ukraine over the past day, Ukrainian authorities said on November 7, 2026, as Moscow carried out an overnight mass drone and missile attack on the country's energy infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia hit a substation in Kyiv Oblast that connects the western Rivne and Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plants to Kyiv and Ukraine's central regions. He said substations were also damaged in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kharkiv and Dnipro oblasts, and that 36 ballistic missiles were launched overnight, all aimed at Kyiv and the surrounding region.
Zelensky wrote on X that the capital faced serious difficulties with electricity, water and heat supplies, and that residential buildings and the Northern Bridge were damaged. At least six people in Kyiv were injured, according to authorities. In the wider Kyiv Oblast, one person was killed and two injured, with energy facilities damaged in the Bucha and Obukhiv districts, the National Police said.

Attacks in Donetsk Oblast injured four people, governor Vadym Filashkin said, and one person was injured in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, where troops carried out 848 attacks on 55 settlements over the past day, local authorities said.
In Kharkiv Oblast, attacks on the regional capital and nine other settlements injured a 55-year-old woman, governor Oleh Syniehubov said. In Vinnytsia Oblast, rescue equipment and a building of the State Emergency Service unit were damaged, along with civilian infrastructure including the area around the local market, a market stall and several cars, the service said; one person was injured.
