Russian air strikes killed a child and injured five people in and around the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and its surrounding region early on Wednesday, officials said. Fires broke out in Kyiv, affecting private houses along with a store and a warehouse, leaving two people injured, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. A Reuters witness heard explosions in the city.
