The Dnipropetrovsk region also sustained strikes on infrastructure facilities, with a residential house destroyed and a shopping center damaged in the capital city, Dnipro. While no casualties were reported in the initial overnight strikes in Dnipropetrovsk, four people were later injured by a Russian drone attack.
In retaliation, Ukraine's military announced that its drones successfully struck oil refineries in Krasnodar and Syzran, Russia. Both facilities have been targeted previously. The military reported significant explosions and fires at the Krasnodar refinery, which produces three million tons of petroleum products annually, and a fire at the Syzran facility, which produces eight-and-a-half million tons per year. Russian authorities in Krasnodar acknowledged the drone strikes, confirming damage to a process unit and a fire, but reported no casualties.
The Russian defense ministry stated that it had intercepted 20 Ukrainian drones overnight, with 18 being downed over the Crimean Peninsula. Additionally, the Russian military claimed to have captured Komyshevakha, a rural settlement in the eastern Donetsk region, though Ukraine has not confirmed this. Russian forces continue their offensive along the front lines in eastern Ukraine.
