Rathbones, a prominent UK wealth and asset management firm, has taken a significant step in its international expansion by securing a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) licence from the Central Bank of Ireland. This licence permits the company to offer its investment services within the European Union.
The move is part of Rathbones' strategic objective to enhance its international capabilities and better serve both new and existing clients across the EU. As part of this initiative, Rathbones appointed Dolores Geaney as Managing Director for Rathbones in Ireland, a position subject to regulatory approval. Geaney, who brings three decades of experience in global financial services, will be instrumental in developing new relationships within local and expatriate networks, including intermediaries.
