Norway announced on Thursday it will provide an additional 125 million Norwegian crowns, equivalent to $13.17 million, in aid to the occupied Palestinian territories. The funds will be channeled through the United Nations and the World Bank and will include support for the public sector budget.
Norway recognized a Palestinian state in 2024 and currently chairs the international donor group for the Palestinians. Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide stated that the need for international support is "greater than ever" and also criticized Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank. Norway is projected to provide around 1 billion Norwegian crowns in assistance to the Palestinians in 2026.
Separately, on October 13, 2025, the Norwegian government agreed to provide $4 million in additional support to the Palestinian public budget, according to the Palestinian Finance Ministry. This announcement was made during a meeting between Palestinian Finance Minister Omar Al-Bitar and Erik Bergåsv, Representative of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Al-Bitar affirmed Norway's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and government institutions, while Bergåsv stressed Oslo's commitment to promoting financial stability.
