The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 42.5 points, or 0.08%, at the open to 53,611.94. The S&P 500 gained 4.2 points, or 0.05%, to 7,735.17. The Nasdaq Composite, however, dropped 25.4 points, or 0.10%, to 26,515.989 at the opening bell. Earlier in the week, indexes had opened higher on Thursday, led by the Nasdaq, as Nvidia's strong forecast renewed investor confidence in the artificial intelligence trade. Salesforce and CrowdStrike also saw significant gains during that period.
