Public hospitals in Malaysia's Bornean states are employing "Selamat Datang" [welcome] banner posts to greet medical staff reporting for duty. Tawau Hospital on Sabah's east coast recently shared a group photograph of new medical officers, while Kinabatangan Hospital posted similar banners for arrivals in various departments. In neighboring Sarawak, Kapit Hospital also displayed a greeting banner with a portrait of a new doctor. Despite these efforts, the Malaysian Medical Association has called for the restoration of incentives to address reports of doctors not showing up for duty in Borneo.
