Kalmbach Feeds has acquired a grain elevator and rail transload facility located at 798 Lincoln Way in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, from Mennel Mining Company. The facility boasts extensive grain storage capacity and high-capacity unit-car rail transloading capabilities.
According to family member Paul Kalmbach Jr., the strategic acquisition is intended to expand Kalmbach's direct access to local grain and further strengthen the company's investments in feed, pet food, and ingredient manufacturing and distribution. He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work with Mennel, describing the transaction as built on trust and reflecting a strong working relationship between the two family businesses.
