Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) announced on Monday, September 28, 2026, that it will collaborate with POSCO International Corp. and the Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) to enhance aerospace cooperation within Mexico and to identify potential ventures in the broader Latin American market. The initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the three entities during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's state visit to Mexico last week. Under the terms of the agreement, KAI intends to develop business models focused on supply chain collaboration and to seek new business prospects across Latin America. POSCO International is set to support KAI's efforts by integrating selected Mexican companies into its aerospace manufacturing supply chain. FEMIA, representing over 100 member companies, will act as a facilitator, promoting exchanges within Mexico's aerospace sector, assisting in the identification of suitable local partners, and providing insights into relevant government policies. KAI CEO Kim Jong-chul stated that the company aims to leverage its cooperation with Mexico to accelerate expansion of its FA-50 light combat aircraft into Central America and to broaden its market presence in North and South America.
