FC Barcelona has approved a new €510 million financing package to complete the ongoing Spotify Camp Nou redevelopment project, a move that is expected to push the club's total debt beyond €2 billion in the 2026/27 season. The financing package, approved by delegate members, is divided into €300 million for construction work and €210 million raised through two Media Notes issuances backed by audiovisual revenues.
The club's total debt stood at €1.84 billion as of June 30, 2026, marking a 27% increase from the previous year. The Espai Barça redevelopment, which includes significant structural reinforcements and expanded VIP and hospitality areas at the stadium, is the primary driver of this debt, accounting for over €1.2 billion of the total.
Despite breaking the €1 billion revenue barrier for the first time in its history, reaching €1.02 billion in the 2025/26 season, Barcelona ended the financial year with a net loss of €17.8 million. Construction delays have also incurred substantial costs, including over €90 million in interest payments in the previous season. The club is relying on the completed stadium to generate an additional €250 million in annual revenue to manage its financial obligations.
