Police were responding to a 911 call about a possible burglary attempt when they encountered Pysher at the rear of a home. His father, Glen Pysher, stated that his son had been celebrating a friend's birthday and mistakenly went to the wrong house after taking a wrong turn in the woods.
According to the father, his son believed he was at a friend's house and tried to open the doorknob, startling the homeowner. Pysher then sat on the back porch and contacted his friends, who were on their way to find him. The father expressed confusion about the encounter, noting that his son was on a FaceTime call with friends just minutes before he was shot.
The Montgomery County district attorney’s office is investigating the incident. Police Chief Al Werner declined to release information pending the investigation's completion. Pysher was preparing to begin his senior year at St. Elizabeth University and aspired to become a high school history teacher and coach. His father described him as a loving individual who was missed by his community.
