Zach Yadegari, co-founder of the AI-powered nutrition app Cal AI, will be a featured speaker at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, discussing strategies for achieving viral growth and capitalizing on it. Yadegari, who co-founded Cal AI as a high school senior, saw the app achieve over 15 million downloads and generate more than $30 million in annual revenue before its acquisition by MyFitnessPal in December 2025. The acquisition kept Cal AI as a standalone app and retained its seven-person team, with Yadegari continuing at the helm.
Before co-founding Cal AI, Yadegari, at 16, founded Totally Science, a gaming platform that attracted over 5 million users during the COVID-19 pandemic and was sold for six figures. At the Disrupt conference, Yadegari is slated to participate in a fireside chat on the Builders Stage, where he will detail Cal AI's rapid growth, the product pressures that accompanied it, and the challenges of converting initial attention into sustained user retention and long-term company building. The event is scheduled to take place from October 13-15 in San Francisco.
