Four years after a significant departure of staff from its London office, U.S. law firm Boies Schiller Flexner is reporting a strong comeback. The firm has seen substantial growth in both revenue and head count in recent years. In 2023, gross revenue increased by 11.8% to $246 million, with head count rising by 2%. This positive trend continued into 2024, with gross revenue jumping by 57.5%, largely driven by significant contingency fee payouts, which accounted for over 40% of the firm's revenue. Chairman Matthew Schwartz attributed the firm's success to strategic lateral partner hiring and increased client demand for high-profile matters. Further solidifying its commitment to international presence, Boies Schiller Flexner has expanded its executive committee from nine to 10 seats, creating a new position for a London partner to enhance geographical diversity in its leadership. The firm plans to continue its growth trajectory by adding talent in 2025.
