The device also features a redesigned remote with tactile controls and a "direct power" feature to draw power from a TV's USB port. It will be available for $59.99.

Amazon's updates to its Fire TV platform aim to enhance user experience through faster performance and more intuitive controls, potentially increasing engagement with its streaming services and associated content.
Amazon has introduced a new Fire TV Stick 4K, which the company claims is its fastest streaming device to date. It boasts faster power-up times and app launches, with Amazon stating apps launch over 35% faster than competing products. Content playback is also nearly 20% faster than a similarly priced 4K stick from another leading brand, according to Amazon's internal testing.
The device features a redesigned remote with enhanced tactile controls, including a distinct metal surface for the home button and indented or uniquely shaped other buttons, allowing for easier identification by touch. A "direct power" feature enables users to power the device via a TV's USB port using an included cable.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K is priced at $59.99 and begins shipping on Wednesday, September 30, initially in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Mexico, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand, with more countries to follow in late October.
The redesigned Fire TV Remote will also be available for pre-order as a standalone upgrade for existing Fire TV devices, shipping in late October for $14.99 in the U.S.
Looking ahead, Amazon plans to launch the Fire TV Remote Plus in early 2027. This new remote will feature an aluminum housing, backlit buttons, and a "find my remote" function activated by voice command.
Amazon is also enhancing the Fire TV experience with a dedicated hub for Alexa+ that aims to provide "smarter reasoning" for content recommendations, considering user subscriptions, watch history, and availability. Updates for Alexa+ features will begin rolling out in November to select devices, with wider availability in early next year. Additionally, the Fire TV interface will integrate live content from over 40 apps and consolidate cloud gaming services into a single hub.
