Amazon's entry-level Fire TV Stick HD now supports AI-enhanced Alexa+ and Xbox cloud gaming, offering more conversational control and the ability to stream games without a console. The device streams in Full HD and supports HDR10 and HDR10+.
Amazon's integration of AI and cloud gaming into its most affordable Fire TV Stick aims to enhance user experience and broaden the appeal of its streaming ecosystem, potentially increasing engagement with its services and hardware.
Amazon has updated its entry-level Fire TV Stick HD, introducing AI-powered features and enhanced gaming capabilities. The device now supports Alexa+, an upgraded version of Amazon's voice assistant that leverages artificial intelligence for more natural and conversational interactions. This feature is available for free to Amazon Prime members, while non-Prime members can access it for a monthly fee of $20.
In addition to the AI enhancements, the Fire TV Stick HD gains access to the Xbox app, enabling users to stream Xbox games directly to their TV. This functionality requires a Game Pass Ultimate membership and a Bluetooth controller, allowing users to play console-quality games without needing an actual Xbox console. The latest iteration of the Fire TV Stick HD also boasts a slimmer design and WiFi 6 connectivity for improved network performance.
The Fire TV Stick HD streams video in Full HD (1080p) resolution and supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) through HDR10 and HDR10+ formats, delivering enhanced colors and contrast. While this model is Amazon's most affordable streaming option, the company has recently increased prices across its Fire TV lineup, with the Stick HD now costing $39.99, up from its original $34.99 price. Despite the price hike, limited-time deals often bring the price down significantly.
