President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has fallen to 51%, its lowest point since he took office in June last year, according to a poll released Friday by Gallup Korea. The survey, conducted from Tuesday to Thursday among 1,000 adults, showed a 6 percentage point decrease in positive assessments of Lee's performance compared to two weeks prior.
Concurrently, his negative assessment rose by 6 percentage points to 41%, marking the first time his disapproval rating has surpassed 40% in Gallup polls. The primary reasons cited for this decline include concerns over the economy, housing policies, and alleged irregularities involving the National Election Commission.
In terms of party support, the ruling Democratic Party maintained its standing at 41%, while the main opposition People Power Party saw a 2 percentage point decrease, settling at 27%. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
