‘We can’t compete’: Australia warned as China surges ahead in technology

Aust-China Relations Institute Director James Laurenceson warns Australia is falling behind China in technology and engineering. “We can’t compete with China on this,” Mr Laurenceson told News24 host Andrew Bolt. “China is producing so much engineering talent that it suffers from a brain drain. “I think this is a cultural issue as well. “We just don’t prioritise those fields in the same way that a country like China does.”
