News24 host Sharri Markson says the move to permanently roll out pill testing in New South Wales at up to 15 music festivals a year “seems like giving up”. “Problematically, medical experts and the Minns government now want a different approach, not zero tolerance but minimising risk,” Ms Markson said. “We know that drug education works. We know that a powerful public campaign works. “This should be the approach rather than sending the message that it's fine for young people to take a pill after it's been cleared by an official drug-testing unit, sanctioned by the government.”
