News24 host Jaimee Rogers criticises Labor for introducing a tax policy based on “guesses”. “A lot of this data looks as if it is based on educated guesses,” Ms Rogers told News24 host Peta Credlin. “This is significant because this is what the government is going and creating their tax policy around, and this is people’s largest investment when it comes to their housing, so are we any surprised to see that the property market is going the way that it is when you’re using guesses. “It’s odd that the modelling isn’t even available for anyone else to actually look at, so we can’t even really scrutinise what has gone on behind the scenes. “Normally, when you look at policy, you look at evidence and data and then go and create it. But it looks as though, in this case, Jim Chalmers and the Albanese government wanted to create this policy and then they’ve gone and used the Treasury modelling to make up that decision.”
